We groom our own puppies. Below are some tools we found that work for us to groom and keep beautiful in between grooming. Consult with your veterinarian for all professional advice.
We use a medicated shampoo just in case. Put the shampoo on being careful not to tangle the hair. We brush the shampoo through the hair before rinsing.
We a more comfortable with non-locking hemostats for caring for the pup's ears. Remember to ask your vet about these. Also, the groomer should take care of their ears when they get groomed. We keep close watch on the dogs ears checking them at least once a week and watching for any signs of irritation from the pup.
When the pup's ears seem irritated, we often use an ear wash to get into the entire canal. Check with your veterinarian before use. Be sure to use enough that the dogs shakes their head after you put the wash into their ear.
We use two different brushes. This one is to remove tangles and any loose hair.
We use two different brushes. This brush is for a comfortable routine brush. I also use a metal comb. One comes with the clippers so no link for that.
We love these clippers. I have tried the expensive ones and came back to these. They are great for in between grooming to keep the eye area shorter.
